Characters in a text file are jumbled when I open it. How do I fix this?
Characters may appear jumbled when you open a text file that was uploaded to a file browser in a web browser at times. This problem arises from an inconsistency between the character code sets used when the text file was created and when the web browser displays it.
The instructions below can be used to modify the encoding settings of your web browser. For more information, please see the support page for your web browser.
Chrome or Microsoft Edge
Use an extension to change Chrome's encoding settings.
Firefox
In the menu bar of your browser, choose Settings > Repair Text Encoding to change the encoding.
Safari
In the menu bar of your browser, choose Settings > Text Encoding to change the encoding.
For Smartphones
InfiniCLOUD encourages the use of one of the third-party apps found here since modifying the encoding settings for smartphones is difficult.
