What is WebDAV?

WebDAV stands for Web-based Distributed Authoring and Versioning.

With the help of tools for concurrency management and namespace operations, WebDAV, a collection of extensions to the Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP), enables user agents to collaboratively produce, edit, and manage content directly in an HTTP web server.

Many well-known web servers support WebDAV, facilitating proper implementation, and a number of operating systems, including Windows, macOS, and Linux, also provide built-in support for WebDAV protocol transmissions.
